I've been busy nowadays with numerous things and took quite a long break off from blogging.

Between shifting offices, changing strategies on how I do business and getting married (phew), I also had time to go around looking for a new idea for a web-based service which I could start up or use as a base.

Well after much searching I came across a Google developer's brain child which was a perfect base for a service that I would want to use.

Enter, Qooik (www.qooik.com)

This is a very barebones and basic service for sharing images and photos amongst friends.

"I use facebook for that" you might say, well with all the permissions mumbo-jumbo on facebook, Qooik makes it 10 times faster at the very least!

Simply drag and drop an image (up to 900kb for now in size) into the Qooik home page and the image is uploaded. Repeat to create a gallery and keep doing that till all images are uploaded. The drag and drop interface is fully html5 based so no need for any plug-ins or flash even.

Once you're done with the uploads, a "Share url" is visible on the upper right to simply click and send to your friends so they can instantly view the gallery!

You can even keep a name for your new "qooik" (by default you'll see 'untitled') and save these galleries by signing in with your Google/Gmail account.

I'll be working to add normal sign ups as well as sharing ability for documents as well soon enough. We'll be working towards facebook integration and also better ways to display the images and more features as well.

Qooik can be used for sharing images, photos, mockups of designs for your clients which you want to just drag and drop into a browser window and send them a URL for it. Makes more sense and is faster isn't it?
